PROFILE OF EVENTS:
EVERGREEN DANCE FESTIVAL:
Held at Festival Place in Sherwood park AB, our first and original Festival which caters to Rural Dance Studios offering a training combination of recreational and performance levels. The Evergreen Festival remains invitational, but is open to interested studios who fit the criteria. This event focuses on introducing dancers to Festival atmosphere with a positive and encouraging attitude. We carefully select adjudicators for this event who are still currently training young dancers and who appreciate the difficulty of preparing new talent. Our goal is to provide these dancers with gentle critiques as they progress. All Gold and High Gold finishers at this event qualify for the Great Canadian Dance Challenge Grand Championships in Kelowna.
DANCE EXTREME FESTIVAL:
Also held at festival Place in Sherwood Park AB, the Dance Extreme Festival is open to beginner through accelerated-advanced levels and has a wide variety, and increasingly high standard. One of our largest events, the Dance Extreme Festival hosts thousands of young dancers each season and provides scholarships and awards for excellence. Our faculty of professional adjudicators critique the performers based upon their training and age levels in an exciting non-competitive atmosphere. All Gold and High Gold finishers qualify for the Great Canadian Dance Challenge grand Championships in Kelowna BC.
THE DREAM TEAM DANCE FESTIVALS:
With two events, one at The Surrey Arts Centre, Surrey BC and Festival Place, Sherwood Park, AB, our Dream Team Festivals have been successfully promoting the art of dance for over 15 years. Offering beginner through accelerated-advanced categories, the Dream Team Festival is of a high standard. Along with medal placements and awards for each category, thousands in cash awards are presented throughout the event. Personal one on one adjudications provide the dancers with an invaluable experience. All Gold and High Gold finishers qualify for the Great Canadian dance Challenge Grand Championships in Kelowna BC.
THE GREAT CANADIAN DANCE CHALLENGE:
Currently, with three venues including Kelowna, BC, Calgary, AB and Fort Saskatchewan, AB, the Great Canadian Dance Challenge is the newest addition to our family of events and is a Competition based on a Festival format. In addition to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in every adjudication category, all performances are given a mark and medal placement based upon their age and training. Providing competition with a “non-competitive” atmosphere has been accomplished at this event which is attracting a huge variety of studios from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. All Gold and High Gold finishers qualify for the Great Canadian Dance Challenge grand Championships in Kelowna, BC.
THE GREAT CANADIAN DANCE CHALLENGE GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Held each July in Kelowna, BC, the Grand Championships is a head to head competition including Gold Medal and High Gold Medal performances from any Evergreen Dance Festival, Dance Extreme Festival, Dream Team Dance Festival or Great Canadian Dance Challenge. With great trophies, medals, scholarships and cash award incentives this is by far the most exciting event of the season. The “best of the best” from Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC compete for our Grand Champion status. The standard is fantastic, the adjudicators are second to none and the atmosphere is pure excitement! The event concludes with a Show of Stars dance-off that shouldn’t be missed!
THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN DANCE PROJECT:
Our final event every season is this one week summer dance camp held every August in beautiful Jasper, AB. Our amazing faculty of choreographers instruct the dancers in Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Musical Theatre, Turns and Progressions and Audition classes. Included are meals, accommodations, supervision, whitewater rafting, sweatshirts and special events in this packed full week of training. You don’t want to miss this experience of a lifetime, meeting new friends and honing your skills at this one of a kind camp!
